How much energy can photovoltaics generate in Vancouver?

We are often asked how much solar energy can be generated in Vancouver from a nominal kW of photovoltiac modules.  Our best preforming system in the Lower Mainland is located in Richmond and generates 1,280 kWh / kW.  The owner of the system has not made the detailed data available online publicly.  But here is a screenshot of the annual performance of the 218 W modules:

Of course, many systems do not perform this well.  We design our systems to perform as well as they can given site conditions but not everyone has the experience or skills to do so.

Below is a screenshot showing the annual performance of another systm located in the City of Vancouver.  This one does receive some shading from nearby trees – that is why the panels in the lower right are producing less than those in the upper left.  Even so this 4.0 kW system generates 1,120 kWh / kW annually:
